This very interesting tideland lies about 7 kilometers southwest of Dingalan, Aurora off the shore of a barangay called Matawe.   During low tides, a vast tidal flat of about 10 hectares is exposed making it possible to walk 400+ meters towards a promontory that encloses a large and deep tidal pool. We estimate the pool to be at least 20 feet deep. The tidal pool is completely sealed from the surrounding sea waters making its water perfectly still even while the waves roar just a few meters behind the promontory.

How to get there

In summary, from Manila, take the North Expressway, exit at Sta. Rita and head northward to Cabanatuan. From Cabanatuan, head for Palayan (the Provincial Capital of Nueva Ecija) then head for Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija then to Dingalan, Aurora. At Dingalan, continue about 7km southward until you reach Matawe. As you reach Matawe, you will see the tideland to your left about half a kilometer from the beach.
For those who commute, well, I have not tried this myself, but the general directions would be something like: Get a bus to Cabanatuan. Then another bus from Cabanatuan to Dingalan, or better still, get a bus that goes all the way from Cabanatuan to Laur? and get off at Matawe. (not sure of the name if it is Laur, I am verifying this and will repost this narrative).
